JudovsJiu-Jitsu

Which should you train?

Both come from the same root. Judo spends its time getting the throw; Jiu-Jitsu spends its time on what happens after. Here is the honest difference — and how to pick the one that fits.

The Short Answer

Train Judo if…

✓ You want throws that end a fight on impact
✓ You like grip fighting and explosive, standing exchanges
✓ You want a formal, disciplined room with a clear curriculum
✓ You are happy training in the gi

Train Jiu-Jitsu if…

✓ You want to control and finish once the fight is close
✓ You like problem-solving and live rolling every session
✓ You want the answers for when you end up underneath
✓ You want a game you can still train hard at forty

What We Teach Here

At Killer B HQ we teach No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu as one of the Four Arts, alongside boxing, kickboxing and wrestling. You learn each art properly and then learn how they connect.

We do not teach judo — and we will say so plainly. If throws in the gi are what you want, find a good judo club and go. What we can tell you is that our wrestling covers the same job in the ruleset most people actually need, and it hands straight over into the grappling we do.

No Belts. Only Standards.

Common Questions

Which is better for self-defense?

Judo ends things fastest when it lands — concrete is unforgiving. Jiu-Jitsu is what you want the moment it does not land and the fight is close. Neither is complete on its own, which is why we pair grappling with striking.

Which is better for my child?

Both are safe and both build composure. Judo is more formal and more structured; Jiu-Jitsu gives a child more live problem-solving and less standing impact.

Do I need to be fit to start?

No. You get in shape by training. We meet you where you are on day one.

Can I try before joining?

Yes. Book a trial, take a class, meet the coaches. No pressure, no ego.

Still Not Sure Which Fits?

Book a trial. We will watch you move and tell you honestly what suits your goals.
