KickboxingvsMuay Thai

Which should you train?

Both are stand-up striking. The difference is how much of your body counts as a weapon, and how much clinch work you do. Here is the honest version — and how to pick the one that fits what you want.

The Short Answer

Train Kickboxing if…

✓ You want punches and kicks with clean, fast footwork
✓ You want a striking workout that scales from beginner to competitor
✓ You prefer sparring rules that keep you training every week
✓ You want conditioning that carries into every other sport

Train Muay Thai if…

✓ You want elbows, knees and clinch work in your toolkit
✓ You are drawn to the traditions and ritual of the sport
✓ You want the closest thing to a full stand-up ruleset
✓ You are happy travelling to find a dedicated Muay Thai room

What We Teach Here

At Killer B HQ we teach kickboxing as one of the Four Arts, alongside boxing, wrestling and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu. You learn each art properly and then learn how they connect.

We do not run a dedicated Muay Thai curriculum — and we will say so plainly. If elbows, knees and heavy clinch work are what you are after, a specialist Thai gym will serve you better. If you want to strike well and keep improving every week, come train kickboxing with us.

Common Questions

Which is better for self-defense?

Both teach you to hit and not get hit. Muay Thai adds elbows and knees at close range; kickboxing keeps you sharper at distance and moving. Either beats not training — what matters more is how often you spar.

Which is better for my child?

Kickboxing, in most cases. The ruleset lets a child build coordination, timing and confidence with contact that is controlled and age-appropriate.

Do I need to be fit to start?

No. You get in shape by training. We meet you where you are on day one.

Can I try before joining?

Yes. Book a trial, take a class, meet the coaches. No pressure, no ego.

Still Not Sure Which Fits?

Book a trial. We will watch you move and tell you honestly what suits your goals.
