WrestlingvsJiu-Jitsu

Which should you train?

Both are grappling. Wrestling decides who gets on top; Jiu-Jitsu decides what happens next. Here is the honest difference — and why most people here end up training both.

The Short Answer

Train Wrestling if…

✓ You want to control where the fight happens
✓ You like relentless pace and a hard, conditioning-heavy room
✓ You want takedowns that hold up against a resisting opponent
✓ You want the base every other grappling art is built on

Train Jiu-Jitsu if…

✓ You want to finish, not just control
✓ You like problem-solving and live rolling every session
✓ You want the answers for when you end up underneath
✓ You want a game you can still train hard at forty

What We Teach Here

At Killer B HQ we teach wrestling and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu as two of the Four Arts, alongside boxing and kickboxing. You learn each art properly and then learn how they connect.

We teach both of these under one roof — which is the point. Wrestling gets you on top, Jiu-Jitsu keeps you safe and finishes from there. Training one without the other leaves an obvious hole, and we would rather you did not have one.

No Belts. Only Standards.

Common Questions

Which should I start with?

Start with whichever room you can get to consistently. If you are choosing purely on carryover, wrestling gives you the takedown and the top position, which makes everything you learn in Jiu-Jitsu easier to apply.

Which is better for my child?

Both are excellent, and neither involves strikes to the head. Wrestling builds toughness and work rate; Jiu-Jitsu builds composure and problem-solving. Kids who do both tend to be the hardest to deal with in either.

Do I need to be fit to start?

No. You get in shape by training. We meet you where you are on day one.

Can I try before joining?

Yes. Book a trial, take a class, meet the coaches. No pressure, no ego.

Still Not Sure Which Fits?

Book a trial. We will watch you move and tell you honestly what suits your goals.
